Vego vs. Carnivore
July 15th 2008 13:41
This is something I find tough about being a vego.
I called my Dad today cause I needed to pick something up from his house.
Sure it was a surprise that I was going to do it tonight but I have some spare time and its urgent for me to pick up the stuff that he has.
So I said to him during the course of the conversation,
"What are you guys having for dinner?"
He replied with "Scotch fillet steak."
I said "Oh OK."
We chatted about some other things and Dad knew I would be there around dinner time but he didn't ask if I would like anything? Or if I would like to stay for dinner?
So it looked like the kitchen was closed for vegetarians at my parents house tonight.
At the end of the call I said "Don't worry about anything for me for dinner, I will work it out."
He said "No worries" cause that's what we say in Australia, ie it wasn't going to worry him.
So now does it become tough being a carnivore?
The reason why I say that, is because this carnivore just shortened the amount of time he will be able to see his grand-daughter for.
Tonight I will only have time to get home, pick up my daughter and wife, drop my wife off at a function then head to my parents house to pick up stuff, then go cause I have to have dinner and then go to pick up my wife...
That means my parents will only be able to see their grand-daughter for probably no more than 10 minutes.
I miss out on a meal and he doesn't get to spend time with his grand-daughter.
I know who the real loser is out of this battle.
Cause Dad will have to deal with my daughters Nanna!
